An Update On FOBCY Activities

The Friends of Bellie Churchyard

The Friends have had a busy year so far … those of you who pass the churchyard regularly will have seen quite a lot of activity in the continuing upgrade of the entrance area. Thanks to Jeff Lowndes, one of our dedicated volunteers, we now have 4 large wooden planters in place. At the beginning of June, we plan to fill these with colourful summer bedding plants for everyone to enjoy … and introduce shrubs and bulbs later in the year to provide winter and spring colour.

Our recent children’s Poetry/Art competition provided Friends with a difficult task in the final judging session. It is always a joy to get involved with the children in this way. They are all winners in our eyes. However, the winning entries will be on display soon at our next family fun event in the village … a Treasure Hunt with a difference … on Sunday, 4 June at 2 pm.

Starting from the Square, you will be led through Fochabers on a mission to solve a few challenges along the way!   Come along and see if you can solve the puzzle! It promises to be a happy event for all ages. Why not just come along for the stroll … it is accessible to all.

There will be prizes and a free raffle draw – wee pancakes and juice for the walkers! No registration is required – entry is by kind donation on the day. We look forward to seeing you on the day.
